We do not give medical advice. Breathe Cadence describes breathing patterns and gives you a timer for them. It does not tell you what an exercise will do to your body, because that is a question for a clinician who knows yours.
What a page may say
A page may describe a pattern: how long each phase lasts, how the phases follow one another, how a session is structured, what the practice feels like to do. It may say that a technique comes from a particular tradition, or that a particular name is used for it elsewhere.
A page may not promise an outcome. No page here says that a pattern will fix, prevent, or change any condition, and no page uses a health outcome as a headline.
Sources
If a statement about an effect ever appears on this site, it appears with a link to the primary source — a paper on PubMed or a DOI — placed next to the statement, not gathered in a footer. We do not cite health portals, content farms, or other sites that themselves cite nobody. Where we cannot point to a primary source, we do not make the statement at all.
A technique page may list studies under Research. Each entry says what the study examined and what it measured, and links to the paper by its DOI. It does not restate the result as something the pattern will do for you: a study measured a group of people under its own conditions, and the page cannot know whether those match yours.
Risk sits next to the instruction
Where a technique carries a known risk — breath holds, forceful or rapid breathing, anything that leaves people lightheaded — the warning appears next to the instructions on the same page, above the point where you would start. Never in the footer, never on a page you have to go looking for. The medical disclaimer is the general version of that rule, not a replacement for it.
No medical reviewer
Nobody here is a clinician, and the site does not claim a medical reviewer it does not have. That is precisely why the writing stays descriptive: a tool that keeps time can be honest about what it is, while a page promising results could not be.
Dates and corrections
Every policy and technique page carries the date it was last updated. A substantive edit moves that date; fixing a typo does not. Corrections are welcome at hello@breathecadence.com and are made in place, with the date moved.
No paid placements
We do not publish sponsored text, paid links, or guest posts. If advertising is ever shown on the site, it will be clearly separated from the text and will never influence what a page says.
